ABS
ABS is the established engineering thermoplastic — the material of choice when a part needs real heat resistance, structural rigidity, and impact toughness beyond what PLA or PETG can deliver. Eolas Prints ABS is a significant advancement on standard ABS, with lower shrinkage, reduced VOC emissions during printing, and improved mechanical properties, manufactured in Cantabria, Spain, to ISO and REACH standards.
Why Choose ABS
- Heat resistance — 83°C heat deflection temperature and a 106°C VICAT softening point, holding its shape in environments that would deform PLA or PETG.
- Acetone smoothable — one of the few common filaments with a practical solvent post-processing route, for smooth, injection-moulded-like surface finishes and reliable part bonding.
- Machinable — grinds, drills, saws, and paints cleanly for functional engineering parts.
- Improved formulation — lower shrinkage and reduced VOCs versus standard ABS, for more reliable printing.
Getting the Best From ABS
ABS's one real challenge is warping, and the fix is well understood: a heated, enclosed chamber and good bed adhesion. Our dedicated guide to stopping warping in ABS and ASA covers it in full — enclosures, cooling, draughts, bed temperature, and adhesion. For everything else, see our complete troubleshooting and calibration hub. An enclosed printer and an adhesive like Magigoo Original make ABS far more reliable. If your application can use it, our ASA filament offers similar strength with better UV stability and easier printing.
Made in Spain
Manufacturing in Cantabria means shorter supply chains, faster restocking, and direct quality control. All ABS ships from Spain with next-day delivery available to mainland Spain and 2–5 day delivery across Europe. Bulk and industrial quantities are available — contact us for volume pricing.
