Description
ELEGOO Saturn 4 Ultra 16K
A 10-inch 16K masking LCD with tilt release and heated resin tank — sub-20 micron detail for jewellery masters, dental models and production miniatures.
The Saturn 4 Ultra 16K resolves features at 14 × 19 µm — the level where fine detail stops being decorative and starts being functional. For casting masters, dental and medical models and precision prototypes, that resolution has real consequences: a clean bezel seat, a crisp margin line, a surface that needs no rescuing after curing.
It also prints fast. Tilt Release peels each layer by tilting the tank rather than pulling the model straight off the film, which cuts peel force dramatically — fewer failed prints, less strain on delicate supports, and up to 150 mm/h. Because MSLA cures an entire layer at once, filling the plate costs no extra time: thirty parts take the same three hours as one.
What Makes It Different
16K masking LCD
15120 × 6230 pixels across 10 inches. The extra resolution matters most where sub-20 µm precision has functional consequences — casting masters and dental prosthetics.
Tilt Release
The tank tilts to release each layer instead of pulling the model off the film. Far lower peel force, fewer failures on tall or delicate parts, and much faster layer cycles.
Smart tank heating
Holds resin at 30 °C for consistent viscosity and layer adhesion — the difference between a reliable winter workshop and a batch of separated layers.
COB + Fresnel lens
A collimating lens keeps light parallel across the whole panel, so a part in the corner of the plate cures the same as one in the centre.
AI camera & chamber light
Real-time monitoring with alerts for empty plates and warped models — useful when a 12-hour plate runs overnight.
Auto levelling
Plug-and-play setup with a mechanical sensor and one-tap self-check. No paper-and-thumbscrew ritual before every job.

You Will Also Need a Wash & Cure Station
A resin printer on its own is an incomplete system. Every finished part must be washed in IPA to remove uncured resin, then UV-cured to reach full hardness and dimensional stability. Skipping either step leaves parts tacky, weak and dimensionally unreliable.
- Mercury Plus V3.0 — 7.5 L wash capacity with adjustable brackets that take build plates up to 10 inches, so it fits the Saturn 4 range directly. The larger curing chamber handles full plates in one pass.
- Mercury XS Bundle — separate washing and curing stations plus a handheld UV lamp, for workshops running wash and cure in parallel.
Budget for consumables too. The ACF/PFA release film, masking LCD, build plate and resin tank are all wear parts on any MSLA machine. We stock replacements in Spain so a worn film does not stop production for a fortnight.
Safety & workspace
Uncured photopolymer resin is a skin and eye irritant. Work in a ventilated space, wear nitrile gloves and eye protection when handling liquid resin, wash parts in IPA, and cure fully before handling bare-handed. Dispose of waste resin and used IPA as chemical waste — never down the drain. Keep away from children and pets.
Who It's For
- Jewellery — casting masters where sub-20 µm precision decides whether a stone seats correctly
- Dental & medical laboratories — models, guides and try-ins with reliable dimensional accuracy
- Miniature and model studios — a full plate of parts in a single cycle, batch after batch
- Engineering — fine-featured prototypes, housings and fit checks where FDM layer lines obscure the detail
- Education — a step up from FDM for design and dental programmes
Questions About the Saturn 4 Ultra 16K
Is 16K worth it for jewellery casting masters?
Yes, this is the application where the step from 12K to 16K earns its money. At 14 × 19 µm the printer resolves prong detail, bezel seats and engraved surfaces cleanly enough to cast directly without hand-finishing the master. On a 12K machine those features are usually printable but need rescuing afterwards, which costs bench time on every piece.
Can I use it for dental models and guides?
For study models, working models and printed guides, yes — the resolution and 0.02 mm Z accuracy are appropriate, and the heated tank helps hold dimensional consistency between batches. For anything placed in a patient's mouth you need certified biocompatible resin and a validated workflow; the Prusa Medical One exists for exactly that case. We will tell you honestly which side of that line your work falls on.
How much difference does 16K make against 12K on the same plate?
Less than the numbers suggest for most work. Both machines share the same 10-inch panel and build volume, so the difference is pixel pitch — 14 × 19 µm against 19 × 24 µm. On painted miniatures the gap is visible but modest. On casting masters, dental work and anything where a surface has to fit something else, it is the deciding factor.
Which resins suit casting and high-detail work?
The machine is an open system, so any 405 nm photopolymer works. For casting masters use a dedicated castable resin — these are formulated to burn out cleanly and leave minimal ash in the investment. For detail models a standard or ABS-like resin is fine. Always match exposure settings to the specific resin rather than reusing another profile.
Where should I put it — does it need dedicated ventilation?
Put it somewhere you do not sleep or spend long hours. Resin off-gasses during printing and IPA off-gasses during washing, and concentrations that are fine in a ventilated room during the day build up overnight in a sealed one. A garage, workshop or dedicated room with a window is ideal. Note that carbon filters and enclosures reduce odour but do not effectively remove VOCs — real airflow to outside is what matters. Also keep it out of direct sunlight, which will partially cure resin in the vat.
Buying from Eolas Prints
We are a specialist 3D printing supplier in Cantabria, Spain, shipping across Spain and the EU. We keep resin printing consumables on the shelf here rather than sourcing them from overseas when you need them, and we will tell you honestly if a different machine or a different technology suits your parts better. If you are choosing between resin and FDM, or between this and a professional system, talk to us first — that conversation is free and usually saves money.
