The One Question That Decides It: What Are You Printing On?

All three editions print full colour, white, and 3D texture directly onto rigid materials, and all three do UV DTF transfers. The differences come down to two things: how much productivity and how many special effects you need on hard goods, and whether you also need to print on fabric. Answer "do I need to print on clothing?" first — that alone splits the Fabric edition from the other two.

Single UV Edition — The Entry Point

One Epson F1080 print head, doing UV direct and UV DTF with CMYK, white, and varnish (CMYKWV). This is the edition for getting into hard-surface personalisation: acrylic blanks, wood, glass, metal, ceramic, drinkware. If your plan is to make custom signage, coasters, keychains, phone cases, magnets, and tumblers, the Single UV edition does all of it. You give up the second head (so lower throughput) and the specialist inks, but you keep the full core capability at the lowest entry price.

Choose it if: you are starting out, your products are rigid objects and drinkware, and you don't yet need fluorescent colour, extra white density, or apparel.

Dual-Head UV Edition — More Speed, More Effects

Two Epson F1080 heads instead of one, which raises productivity, plus an expanded ink set: rigid white and flexible white, and fluorescent red and yellow (CMYKWV + RW/FW/FR/FY). The extra white options matter for dense, opaque prints on dark and clear materials, and flexible white is what lets you print on leather and canvas; the fluorescent inks open up neon and special-effect work that the Single edition cannot produce. This is the hard-goods power user's edition — faster than the Single, with a wider material and creative range.

Choose it if: you are scaling hard-goods production, or you want premium effects (neon, heavy white, flexible-material printing) and don't need fabric printing.

UV + DT Fabric Edition — Hard Goods and Apparel

Two heads, but here the second is a dedicated fabric (DT) head, adding direct-to-garment (DTG) and direct-to-film (DTF) textile printing on top of the full UV direct and UV DTF capability. It carries separate ink sets — CMYKWVDT for UV work and CMYKWW, with two whites, for fabric — plus a 300 × 390 mm DTG platen for garments. This is the edition for a business that wants to print on both hard goods and clothing from one machine — rigid personalisation plus custom T-shirts, hoodies, and cotton or polyester apparel.

Choose it if: apparel is part of your plan now or soon. Because you cannot add the fabric head later, this is the edition to pick up front if there is any chance you will want to print garments.

One Thing to Budget For: The Laminator

All three editions can print UV DTF — but printing the film is only half the job. Turning that printed film into a finished, applicable sticker, transfer or decal requires the xTool LM1 Laminator, which also handles foil stamping. It is a separate accessory. If UV DTF transfers are a real part of your plan rather than an occasional extra, budget for the laminator alongside the printer from the start. The OR1 Rotary Attachment (for cups, tumblers and ornaments) and the RF1 Roll Feeder (for continuous roll printing) are the other two add-ons worth knowing about.
