Filaments can be food grade. What does this mean? It means that the raw materials with which the material has been manufactured are safe for food contact. Please note that the food contact approval applies only to the raw materials from which the filament has been made. Official food safety compliance applies only to the finished product.
3D printing is a transformation process, and as part of that process materials are being used to create a new end-product - so it's crucial for you know what temperature and other parameters your printer will be using before printing off something with food in mind! Once again, there are no regulations in FDM/FFF 3D Printing regarding specific ingredients or settings so you should check with your government local authority on which standard they recommend for use here.
