Colour on Request

Need a 3D printing filament in an exact colour that no standard range offers? Eolas Prints manufactures custom-colour PLA and other filaments matched to your RAL or Pantone reference — or to a physical sample you send us. Whether you're matching a corporate brand colour, a product design specification or an architectural palette, we formulate the shade and produce it in our own ISO-certified facility in Spain, with the colour consistency that production runs demand. It's a specialised, made-to-order service that very few filament suppliers offer.
Colour matched to your exact reference — or your sample
You give us the target colour as a RAL code or a PANTONE reference, and we develop a filament that matches it. RAL is the standard widely used across industry, architecture and signage in Europe; PANTONE is the global reference for brand and graphic colour. No reference code? No problem. Many clients don't have one — so you can simply send us a physical sample or pattern (a part, a swatch, a product, a painted piece) and we'll match the colour to it. Working from a defined reference or a real sample — rather than a vague description — is what lets us reproduce the same shade reliably, batch after batch, so your parts, prototypes and products all look exactly as intended.
How the service works
The process is straightforward:
- Send your colour reference or sample — a RAL code, a PANTONE reference, or a physical sample/pattern we can match.
- Colour development — we formulate and verify the shade. A one-time development cost of €450 covers the initial creation and formulation of your custom colour.
- Production — once approved, we manufacture your filament with rigorous quality control to keep the colour consistent across the whole run. The minimum order for a custom colour is 30 kg.
- Delivery — your bespoke filament is shipped to you, ready to print.
Materials and specifications
Custom colour is available primarily in PLA, with other materials such as PETG available on request — ask us about your application. Filament is produced to tight diameter tolerance in 1.75 mm and 2.85 mm, on standard spools, and manufactured under our ISO 9001 (quality) and ISO 14001 (environmental) certified processes. Because we make the filament ourselves in Spain, we control colour and quality from raw material to finished spool, with REACH-compliant and food-contact options available. Explore our standard PLA and PETG ranges, the full 3D printer filament catalogue, or our large industrial spools for high-volume users.
Who custom colour is for
This service is built for users who can't compromise on colour: brands and agencies matching a corporate identity across printed parts and merchandise; product designers and manufacturers producing on-spec components and short production runs; architects and model-makers needing a precise palette across a project; signage, retail and exhibition work; and education and institutions standardising on house colours. If your project depends on a specific, repeatable shade, this is the service for you.
Why Eolas Prints
We are a Spanish filament manufacturer, not a reseller — so custom colour is something we produce in-house, not outsource. You get a defined RAL/PANTONE or sample-based match, certified quality processes, batch-to-batch consistency verified by quality control, and a single point of contact who understands both colour and 3D printing. Based in Cantabria, we supply custom-colour filament across Spain, the EU and internationally.
Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between RAL and PANTONE?
RAL is a European colour-standard system widely used in industry, architecture, paint and signage; PANTONE is the global standard for brand, graphic and product colour. We can match to either — just tell us the code or reference you work with.
Can you match a colour if I don't have a RAL or Pantone code?
Yes. Send us a physical sample or pattern — a part, a swatch, a product or a painted piece — and we'll match the filament colour to it. Many of our clients work this way because they don't have a reference code.
Is there a minimum order?
Yes. The minimum order for a custom colour is 30 kg, which makes a dedicated production run viable while keeping colour consistent throughout.
What does the €450 development cost cover?
It's a one-time charge for the initial creation and formulation of your custom colour — the work of developing and verifying the shade against your reference or sample. Repeat orders of the same colour don't repeat this cost.
Which materials can be colour-matched?
Primarily PLA, with PETG and other materials available on request. Tell us your material and application and we'll confirm what's possible.
How consistent is the colour between batches?
Because we work from a defined RAL or PANTONE reference, or your approved sample, and manufacture under ISO-certified quality control, we reproduce the same shade reliably across repeat production runs.
Do you ship across Spain and the EU?
Yes. We manufacture in Cantabria, Spain, and ship custom-colour filament throughout Spain and the European Union, and internationally on request.
