Description
The xTool X1 is a modular CO₂ laser cutter and engraver that starts with a 55W CO₂ laser and can be expanded with swappable galvo laser sources: 20W diode, 5W UV, 60W MOPA or 30W fibre. It has a 615 × 320 mm engraving area, cuts up to 18 mm basswood and 20 mm acrylic, and its galvo sources engrave at up to 6,000 mm/s. A triple-camera system, LiDAR ranging and autofocus handle placement and focus automatically, so one machine can cut thick wood and acrylic, mark metal, and engrave glass.

Laser Swap™: One Platform, Five Laser Types
Every X1 includes the 55W CO₂ laser for cutting wood, acrylic, leather and fabric. Choose the CO₂ + Diode Galvo version if you want to expand later: the 20W diode galvo module unlocks high-speed engraving and lets you add a 5W UV laser for glass and crystal, a 60W MOPA laser for colour marking and 3D embossing on metal, or a 30W fibre laser for fast, high-contrast metal marking. Only one galvo source is fitted at a time, and you can swap it later. The Single CO₂ version is the lower-cost option for cutting and engraving only and cannot be upgraded.
Which X1 Version Should You Choose?
| Version | Best for |
| Single CO₂ | Cutting thicker wood and acrylic. No galvo, no later laser expansion. |
| CO₂ + Diode Galvo | Thick cutting plus high-speed precision engraving, with UV, MOPA or fibre expansion later. |
| CO₂ + Diode Galvo + UV 5W | Glass and crystal, including inner engraving, and ultra-fine detail on almost any material. |
| CO₂ + Diode Galvo + MOPA 60W | Faster, more versatile metal work: colour engraving, cutting and 3D embossing. |
| CO₂ + Diode Galvo + Fibre 30W | Fast metal marking and deep 3D engraving with high-contrast results. |
Smart Workflow
The ACS™ workflow places, previews and starts jobs from the camera image. The overview camera locates the material, the close-up camera aligns designs to within 0.3 mm in the centre of the bed, and the ranging system sets focus automatically. The Intelligent Conveyor Feeder pulls long or roll material through the machine for runs of up to 3 m.
Bundles
- Standalone: the X1 machine with the selected laser configuration.
- Versatile Bundle: adds the MagSwap™ RA3 rotary, the X1 Intelligent Conveyor Feeder and the X1 Mobile Work Stand.
- All-in-one Bundle: adds the SafetyPro™ AP2 air purifier to the Versatile Bundle.
Safety
The X1 is Class 1 laser safe for standard use. When the Conveyor Feeder is fitted it operates as a Class 4 system, and with the 5W UV source Class 3B radiation is accessible during optical alignment. These configurations are intended for trained users. Always use appropriate extraction or an air purifier, and never leave a laser unattended.
Who It's For
- Small businesses producing signs, packaging, gifts and personalised products at volume
- Workshops that need thick cutting and fine engraving in one machine
- Jewellery, trophy and engraving studios that want to add metal or glass marking later
- Makers who want to start with CO₂ and expand with UV, MOPA or fibre as the business grows
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I add a UV, MOPA or fibre laser to the X1 later?
Yes, but only on the CO₂ + Diode Galvo version. The 20W diode galvo module is required for every galvo expansion, and one galvo source is fitted at a time. The Single CO₂ version cannot be upgraded.
What is the difference between the xTool X1 and the xTool P3?
The P3 is an 80W CO₂-only machine built for high-power cutting with AI fire detection. The X1 starts with a 55W CO₂ laser and adds swappable galvo sources (diode, UV, MOPA, fibre) for fast engraving and marking on metal and glass.
How does the X1 compare with the xTool F2 Ultra?
The F2 Ultra is a compact galvo engraver, and xTool quotes up to 15,000 mm/s for the F Ultra series. The X1 trades some of that speed for a 55W CO₂ laser that cuts 18 mm basswood and 20 mm acrylic and a 615 × 320 mm engraving area.
What can the xTool X1 cut and engrave?
The CO₂ laser cuts wood, acrylic, fabric, leather and paper and engraves glass, ceramic, rubber and silicone. The diode, UV, MOPA and fibre sources engrave and mark metal, glass, plastic and more, depending on the source.
Is the xTool X1 safe to use at home or in a workshop?
The X1 is Class 1 laser safe for standard use. With the Conveyor Feeder it operates as Class 4, and with the UV source Class 3B radiation is accessible during optical alignment. Always use extraction or an air purifier; the All-in-one Bundle includes the SafetyPro™ AP2.
