Description
Eolas Prints PETG UV Resistant is a certified UV-stable filament engineered for parts that live outdoors. While standard PETG degrades in colour and loses structural integrity after prolonged sun exposure, this formulation maintains both — making it the right choice for garden fixtures, marine components, automotive parts, architectural models, and any outdoor application requiring long-term dimensional and aesthetic stability.
Key Properties
| Heat deflection temperature | 62°C |
| Tensile strength | 40–50 MPa |
| Density | 1.27 g/cm³ |
| Shrinkage | Virtually zero |
| UV resistance | Certified — colour and structure stable after extended outdoor exposure |
| Chemical resistance | Excellent (oils, cleaning agents, mild solvents) |
| Moisture sensitivity | High — dry before use |
| Hydrolysis resistance | Yes |
| Diameter tolerance | ±0.05 mm |
Recommended Print Settings
| Nozzle temperature | 230–245°C |
| Bed temperature | 70–90°C |
| Print speed (standard printers) | 20–80 mm/s |
| Print speed (Bambu Lab / high speed) | Up to 150–200 mm/s with tuned profiles |
| Cooling fan | 50–70% |
| Enclosure | Not required |
| Diameter tolerance | ±0.05 mm |
UV Resistance vs Standard PETG
Standard PETG offers only moderate UV resistance — colours fade and mechanical properties degrade after sustained outdoor exposure. PETG UV Resistant uses a certified UV-stabilised polymer formulation that resists photodegradation over extended periods. For parts that will be installed outdoors permanently or seasonally, this is the correct material to specify.
Bed Adhesion
PETG UV Resistant follows the same bed adhesion rules as standard PETG. Apply a thin release layer (glue stick or hairspray) when using PEI sheets — bare PEI at high bed temperatures can bond permanently to PETG and tear the surface on removal. Textured PEI at 70–75°C is generally safe without a release agent. Glass with a thin glue stick layer is a reliable alternative.
Drying Before Printing
Like all PETG variants, this filament is highly hygroscopic. Printing with wet filament causes stringing, surface bubbling, and weak layer adhesion. Dry at 65–70°C for 4–6 hours if the spool has been open for more than a few days. Store in a sealed container or dry box with silica gel desiccant.
Recommended Applications
- Garden and outdoor fixtures — furniture fittings, planters, irrigation components
- Marine and nautical accessories — cleats, brackets, cable guides
- Automotive exterior components — trim parts, sensor housings, exterior brackets
- Architectural scale models for outdoor display
- Solar panel mounting brackets and enclosures
- Industrial outdoor signage and enclosures
- Functional prototypes requiring outdoor weathering tests
Manufactured in Spain
PETG UV Resistant is manufactured at Eolas Prints' facility in Cantabria, Spain, under ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 quality and environmental management standards. Available in 1.75mm and 2.85mm in White and Black.
