LIDAR 3D Scanners

Eolas Prints is an official 3DMakerPro distributor for the Eagle and Raven LIDAR scanners — professional handheld spatial capture systems for surveyors, architects, engineers, and researchers who need to digitise large environments quickly and accurately.

LIDAR vs Structured Light — Which Do You Need?

Structured light scanners (our handheld 3D scanner range) are designed for object digitisation — capturing the geometry of individual objects from a few centimetres up to 3 metres. LIDAR scanners are designed for spatial capture — recording entire rooms, buildings, outdoor environments, and large-scale infrastructure at ranges up to 100 metres. If you need to digitise an object, use a structured light scanner. If you need to capture a space, a site, or a large outdoor environment as a point cloud or 3D model, LIDAR is the correct technology.

3DMakerPro Eagle — RTK Survey-Grade Precision

The Eagle combines long-range LIDAR scanning with an integrated RTK (Real-Time Kinematic) GPS module, achieving centimetre-level absolute positioning. This means every point in the scan is georeferenced to real-world coordinates — making it the correct tool for land surveying, topographic mapping, GIS data collection, and any application where the scan must align with geospatial databases or legal coordinate systems. The Eagle is weatherproof and designed for fieldwork in demanding outdoor environments.

3DMakerPro Raven — Versatile Indoor and Outdoor LIDAR

The Raven is a 1.1kg handheld LIDAR scanner with a 50-metre radius (100m total range) and a 360°×40° field of view. Its built-in 12MP fisheye camera captures true-colour imagery alongside the point cloud, producing photorealistic 3D models and Gaussian Splatting assets directly from the scan. The cross-validated SLAM algorithm combines point cloud, image, IMU, and GPS data in real time to minimise drift — critical for large, complex environments like stadiums, industrial facilities, and multi-storey buildings.

Applications

  • Land surveying, topographic mapping, and GIS data collection
  • Architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) site documentation
  • Heritage preservation and archaeological recording
  • Real estate virtual tours and Gaussian Splatting
  • Forestry, environmental monitoring, and civil infrastructure inspection
  • Industrial plant and facility digital twins

Eolas Prints provides training and technical support for both LIDAR systems. Contact us to discuss your project requirements.
