Prusa Pro SLX — Industrial MSLA Resin System

A complete, certified resin workflow: the SLX printer with active chamber heating, the WX washing machine and the CX curing station — engineered for dental, medical and engineering production with full traceability.

The Prusa Pro SLX is Prusa Research's professional MSLA system for organisations that need resin printing to run at production scale, with documented process control and materials that desktop machines simply cannot handle. Built around a 12K monochrome LCD at 30 µm XY resolution and a tall 220 × 125 × 400 mm build volume, the SLX adds the one capability that unlocks industrial and medical photopolymers — active chamber heating — and pairs it with automatic resin handling and end-to-end workflow tracking. It ships as a complete ecosystem: print, wash and cure, with minimal operator contact at every stage.

The Feature That Defines It: Active Chamber Heating

Standard desktop MSLA printers operate at room temperature, which limits them to low-viscosity photopolymer resins. Industrial and medical resins are frequently highly viscous or highly filled — they need elevated temperature to flow correctly and achieve proper layer adhesion. The SLX's active chamber heating holds the resin at its correct processing temperature throughout the print, enabling certified materials that cannot run on unheated machines. This is precisely what positions the SLX for dental, medical-device and engineering applications rather than prototyping alone.

    A Complete, Certified Ecosystem

The SLX is sold as a validated three-part workflow — not a printer you then have to build a post-processing line around. Each stage is designed for contactless handling of resin and solvents:

    🖨️

    SLX Printer

High-precision MSLA with heated chamber, automatic resin refill and a vat tilt mechanism for fast, reliable layer separation.

    🧼

    WX Washing Machine

Automated two-cycle wash with a 29 L chamber, dual solution reservoirs and a pressurised spray gun — solvents pumped and stored for contactless handling.

    💡

    CX Curing Station

Even UV-LED curing with smart presets, up to 80 °C, accommodating parts up to Ø270 × 400 mm for consistent, repeatable cure.

    Built for Regulated, Traceable Production

The SLX tracks resin type, resin volume consumed, wash times and cure times, generating a process record for every job. In regulated environments — dental, medical device, aerospace — where proof of correct manufacturing process is required for quality assurance or compliance, that documentation is a functional requirement, not a convenience. A built-in smart recognition system monitors each print from start to finish.

    🔬

    Industrial & medical resins

Certified for most medical and industrial MSLA materials; also runs third-party resins, so you are never locked to a single supplier.

    📋

    Full workflow traceability

Resin, volume, wash and cure data captured per job as proof of correct process for QA and regulatory documentation.

    🛡️

    Operator safety by design

Carbon filtration, an operating door lock, a secure platform-handling tool and contactless solvent management throughout.

    🔁

    Quick-swap platform

A quick-change print platform keeps part handling fast and clean between print, wash and cure stages.

Why MSLA, and Where the SLX Sits

MSLA printers cure each layer as a complete image across the full build platform at once, so layer time is independent of how many parts are on the plate — a full plate of dental models takes the same time per layer as a single model. The resolution is fundamentally higher than FDM: features below 0.1 mm that are impossible in filament are routine in resin. The trade-off is material handling, which the SLX ecosystem manages safely end to end.

Prusa Pro SLX Desktop MSLA (e.g. SL1S)
Resin range Viscous & filled industrial / medical resins Low-viscosity resins only
Chamber heating Active — temperature-controlled Room temperature
Resin handling Automatic refill Manual pour / top-up
Build height 400 mm Typically ≤ 150–200 mm
Traceability Per-job process record None / manual logging
Best for Certified production & regulated workflows Prototyping, workshops, labs

Running an entry MSLA machine such as the Original Prusa SL1S SPEED, or casting in wax on the Flashforge WJ51C? The SLX is the industrial resin tier between them — the same Prusa workflow you already know, scaled up for heated-chamber materials and traceable production.
