What is a UV printer — and why it matters

A UV printer uses ultraviolet light to cure ink the instant it's laid down, so vivid CMYK + white graphics bond directly to solid objects with no transfer paper and no drying time. Because the ink can be layered, you can build raised, embossed, tactile textures you can feel — not just see. Prints are fully cured and ready to handle the moment the job finishes. It's the fastest route from a design file to a finished, sellable, personalised product.

Three editions — choose the right one for your work

The O1 Omni comes in three editions. They share the same core platform, vision system and texture capability; the difference is how far you want to take materials and productivity. Each edition is factory-configured with its own print-head and ink setup and cannot be upgraded later, so choose the one that matches your long-term work.

V = 3-in-1 varnish (matte, gloss and foil effects). RW = Rigid White, FW = Flexible White, FR = Fluorescent Red, FY = Fluorescent Yellow. DT = Direct-to-Textile.

• Automated maintenance — automatic white-ink stirring, white-ink circulation and print-head moisture protection keep the printer ready even after periods idle.

Accessories & add-ons

The O1 Omni is a platform, and several jobs need the matching accessory. The most important one to plan for:

• LM1 Laminator — required to produce UV DTF stickers, transfers and decals, and for foil stamping. All three editions can print UV DTF, but the laminator is what turns the printed film into a finished, applicable transfer. If UV DTF is part of your plan, budget for this from the start.
• OR1 Rotary Attachment — for printing on cups, tumblers, bottles and ornaments.
• RF1 Roll Feeder — continuous printing on roll materials.

What is the difference between the xTool O1 Omni editions?

There are three. The Single UV edition has one Epson F1080 print head for direct UV and UV DTF printing with CMYKWV ink. The Dual-Head UV edition adds a second print head for higher throughput plus rigid white, flexible white and fluorescent red and yellow inks. The UV + DT Fabric edition adds a dedicated textile head for DTG and DTF printing on cotton and polyester apparel.

Can I upgrade the xTool O1 Omni to another edition later?

No. Each edition is factory-configured with its own print heads and ink system, and these components are installed during manufacturing, so editions cannot be upgraded afterwards. The edition you choose is a one-time decision made at the start.

Which O1 Omni edition do I need to print on garments?

The UV + DT Fabric edition. It uses its second print head for textile printing, adding direct-to-garment (DTG) and direct-to-film (DTF) alongside full UV capability. Because the textile head cannot be added later, choose this edition from the start if there is any chance you will print apparel.

Do I need a laminator to make UV DTF stickers?

Yes. All three editions can print UV DTF, but producing finished stickers, transfers and decals requires the xTool LM1 Laminator, which is also used for foil stamping. If UV DTF transfers are part of your plan, budget for the laminator alongside the printer.

What print head does the xTool O1 Omni use?

The O1 Omni uses the Epson F1080 print head — one on the Single UV edition, and two on both the Dual-Head UV and UV + DT Fabric editions. Print resolution is 720 × 1440 dpi on all three.

How big is the xTool O1 Omni print area?

The standard print bed is 330 × 122 mm and the large print bed is 330 × 420 mm on all three editions. The UV + DT Fabric edition adds a 300 × 390 mm DTG platen for garment printing. The machine itself measures 714 × 374 × 468.5 mm and weighs 40.6 kg (Single UV) or 41.12 kg (Dual-Head and Fabric).
