Eolas Prints PLA and PETG filaments work in every major multi-colour system – the Bambu Lab AMS 2 Pro, AMS HT and AMS lite, the Flashforge AD5X IFS, the Elegoo CANVAS and the Prusa MMU3. Our 1 kg spools (200 mm diameter, 68 mm wide) fit the AMS spool bay. ABS and ASA also feed well in the AMS 2 Pro, AMS HT and MMU3. Our flexible TPU grades should be loaded on the external spool holder or in a tool-changer head, not fed through a filament-switching unit.
Last updated 7 October 2026. Compatibility is based on each manufacturer’s published material lists and our own testing with Eolas Prints filaments.

Key facts
- Spool size: Eolas Prints 1 kg spools measure 200 mm outer diameter and 68 mm wide, with a 52 mm hub – see our spool size guide.
- Best materials for any multi-colour unit: PLA Premium, PLA Matte, PLA High Speed, PLA Transition and PETG.
- Engineering materials: ABS and ASA run in the Bambu Lab AMS 2 Pro and AMS HT and in the Prusa MMU3; print them on an enclosed printer.
- TPU: none of the filament-switching units supports soft TPU. Use the external spool holder or a tool changer such as the Flashforge Creator 5.
- Dry first: damp PETG and TPU are the main cause of jams, stringing and failed swaps.

Bambu Lab AMS 2 Pro, AMS HT and AMS lite
The AMS family is the most popular multi-colour system, and Eolas Prints filaments are a direct fit. The AMS 2 Pro accepts spools 197–202 mm in diameter and 50–68 mm wide, so our 200 mm × 68 mm spool sits in the bay without an adapter. Its built-in dryer reaches 65 °C, which is enough to keep PLA, PETG and TPU dry and to refresh ABS and ASA between prints. The single-slot AMS HT dries up to 85 °C and is the best home for ABS, ASA and PETG UV Resistant on long outdoor-part jobs.
Bambu Lab only approves its own TPU for AMS grade inside the unit; generic TPU 95A and softer is not supported. Load Eolas TPU Flex 93A, D53 and D60 on the external spool holder. On the AMS lite (A1 and A1 mini) stick to PLA and PETG – the A1 series is open-frame, so ABS and ASA are not recommended anyway.
Import our free Bambu Studio profiles and assign one per AMS slot. For costs and flushing, see Bambu Lab AMS explained.
Flashforge AD5X IFS and Creator 5

The AD5X’s Intelligent Filament System (IFS) feeds four spools with automatic refill when one runs out. Flashforge lists PLA, PETG, their carbon-fibre versions and firm TPU (64D–75D) for the IFS; 95A TPU is single-colour only, and ABS and ASA are not listed for the open-frame AD5X. In practice, that means Eolas PLA and PETG in the IFS, and Eolas TPU loaded directly as a single-colour print.
The Flashforge Creator 5 works differently: it is a four-toolhead tool changer, so each head keeps its own filament. That makes it the better Flashforge choice for combining rigid and flexible parts, including Eolas TPU Flex 93A. Get our Orca-Flashforge / Flash Studio profile pack for both printers.
Elegoo CANVAS

CANVAS adds four-colour printing with RFID detection and auto-refill to the Elegoo Centauri Carbon. There are separate versions for the original Centauri Carbon and the Centauri Carbon 2 – they are not interchangeable, so buy the one for your printer. CANVAS accepts spools 40–70 mm wide, so Eolas Prints spools fit. Use Eolas PLA and PETG; TPU must go on the printer’s own spool holder. All 18 Eolas Prints profiles are already built into ElegooSlicer.
Prusa MMU3

The MMU3 switches between five filaments on the MK3S+, MK3.5, MK3.9, MK4S and CORE One. It handles PLA, PETG, ABS and ASA well and is not limited by spool size. Flexible filaments are not recommended. Seven Eolas Prints materials are built into PrusaSlicer; for multi-material TPU on a Prusa, look at the INDX tool changer for the CORE One+.
How to set up Eolas Prints filament in a multi-colour unit
Five steps that apply to the AMS, IFS, CANVAS and MMU3.
- Dry the spools first, especially PETG – see our filament drying and storage guide.
- Load each spool and feed the filament until the unit detects it. Eolas spools have no RFID tag, so set the material manually.
- In the slicer, pick the matching Eolas Prints profile for every slot – find yours in the slicer profile index.
- Set colours, then reduce waste with “flush into infill” or “flush into support” and a prime tower.
- Run a small multi-colour test and check every swap before starting a long print.
Tips for better multi-colour prints
- Keep similar materials together. Combining PLA with PLA, or PETG with PETG, gives the strongest bond between colours.
- Use PETG as a support interface for PLA. The two materials barely bond, so supports peel away cleanly.
- Watch the speed of Silk and Neon. Their profiles use lower flow limits than PLA Premium; the slicer applies the slowest active profile to shared layers.
- Reduce purge waste. Lighter-to-darker colour changes need less flushing; adjust the flushing volumes rather than using the maximum.
- Try Transition filaments. Our PLA, PETG and TPU Transition spools are made from the colour blend produced during colour changes in our own production – a gradient look without swaps.
Troubleshooting
- Filament breaks inside the unit: brittle, damp PLA is the usual cause. Dry the spool and store it sealed.
- Failed loading or swapping with PETG: dry the spool and check that the filament tip is cut clean, not stringy.
- Colour bleed: increase flushing volume for dark-to-light changes.
- Spool drags or skips: make sure the spool turns freely and the end of the filament is not tied to the hub.
Frequently asked questions
Do Eolas Prints spools fit the Bambu Lab AMS?
Yes. Our 1 kg spools are 200 mm in diameter and 68 mm wide, within the AMS 2 Pro’s 197–202 mm by 50–68 mm range, so they fit without an adapter.
Can I use Eolas TPU in the AMS?
No. Bambu Lab only supports its own TPU for AMS grade inside the unit. Load Eolas TPU Flex 93A, D53 or D60 on the external spool holder.
Which Eolas filament is best for multi-colour printing?
PLA Premium and PLA Matte are the easiest; PETG works well once it is dry. Use the same material family across all slots for the best layer bonding.
Can I print ABS or ASA with a multi-colour system?
Yes, in the Bambu Lab AMS 2 Pro and AMS HT or the Prusa MMU3, on an enclosed printer. The AD5X IFS, AMS lite and CANVAS are best kept to PLA and PETG.
Do I need special slicer profiles for multi-colour?
No. Use the normal Eolas Prints profile for each slot; the slicer handles swaps and flushing.
Why does my PETG fail in the AMS but print fine from the external spool?
PETG picks up moisture quickly and the longer feed path amplifies stringing and tip problems. Dry it at 65–70 °C for 4–6 hours.
