Description
The Original Prusa SL1S SPEED + CW1S Bundle is a complete MSLA (Masked Stereolithography) resin printing solution from Prusa Research — the fastest desktop SLA printer Prusa has built, paired with the CW1S all-in-one wash, dry and cure station for a clean, end-to-end resin workflow. Where FDM printers deposit material point by point, the SL1S cures an entire layer at once through a high-resolution monochrome LCD and a powerful 405 nm UV LED array, reaching exposure times as low as 1.3 seconds per layer and capturing fine detail far below what filament can reproduce. It is a proven choice for jewellery casting, dental and medical models, miniatures, and high-fidelity engineering prototypes.

Why MSLA Resin Instead of FDM
MSLA printers cure each layer as a single image across the full build area at once, so layer time is independent of how many objects sit on the platform — a full plate of jewellery or dental models takes the same time per layer as a single part. The achievable resolution is also fundamentally higher than FDM: features below 0.1 mm that filament cannot reproduce are routine in resin. The trade-off is material handling — resins require washing, curing and safe disposal — which is exactly what the bundled CW1S is built to manage with minimal mess.
The Tilting Resin Tank
The motorised tilting tank is the SL1S SPEED's defining feature. After each layer is cured, the display and vat tilt downward before the platform rises. This lowers peel forces so prints are far less likely to detach mid-job, stirs and evenly redistributes resin under the platform, and — most importantly — cuts the separation cycle to just 3 seconds. The result is up to 3× faster printing than non-tilting machines, with a 150 mm-tall model achievable in around three hours.
Certified for Industrial & Castable Resins
The SL1S SPEED is an open-material system: no proprietary vats, resins or FEP films, so you can source consumables anywhere. Prusa has certified the complete print-wash-cure workflow for a wide range of professional resins, including collaborations with industry leaders such as Henkel Loctite. Short exposure times let industrial resins that would otherwise need 20–30 seconds per layer cure in just a few seconds, opening the door to engineering, dental and medical applications — and its sharp detail has made it a long-standing favourite for casting jewellery from Bluecast and other castable resins.
The CW1S Wash & Cure Station
The included Original Prusa CW1S is a 4-in-1 post-processing unit that turns the otherwise messy resin workflow into a few button presses:
- Wash — a stainless-steel IPA tank with a magnetic propeller creates a gentle vortex that reaches every part of the model, more delicate than ultrasonic cleaning and ideal for fine detail.
- Dry — warm-air drying (up to 60 °C) removes solvent before curing to avoid resin-residue staining.
- Cure — four UV LED strips cure parts uniformly to their final mechanical and surface properties.
- Resin pre-heat — brings resin to its ideal printing temperature and viscosity for consistent results.
An IR sensor detects the wash container and presents only the relevant functions, and the unit is more compact than the printer itself — saving bench space in the workshop or lab.
Who It's For
- Jewellers and casters producing master patterns in castable resins
- Dental laboratories printing models, splints and surgical guides in certified resins
- Design studios and miniature makers needing the highest surface detail
- Engineering teams producing high-fidelity functional prototypes and small-batch parts
- Workshops and labs that want a clean, certified, end-to-end resin workflow out of the box
