Description
ELEGOO Mars 5 Ultra
A 7-inch 9K masking LCD with auto levelling and 150 mm/h speed — desktop footprint, near-professional detail.
The Mars 5 Ultra is the Mars 5 with the two upgrades that matter most in daily use: a 7-inch 9K panel (8520 × 4320 rather than 4098 × 2560) and more than double the print speed at 150 mm/h. It also swaps the PET film for 9H tempered glass over the LCD — a meaningful difference, since a scratched or resin-damaged masking panel is the most common expensive repair on any MSLA machine.
Auto levelling and power-loss recovery move it from hobby machine toward something you can rely on for repeat work. If you are printing to sell rather than to tinker, the step up from the Mars 5 pays for itself quickly.
What Makes It Different
7″ 9K mono LCD
8520 × 4320 pixels — more than double the pixel count of the Mars 5, visible immediately on fine texture and small facial detail.
150 mm/h
More than twice the Mars 5's speed. A plate that took a full working day finishes in half of one.
9H tempered glass protector
Protects the masking LCD — the single most expensive wear part — from scratches and resin damage.
Auto levelling
No manual paper-and-thumbscrew routine. Set up once and trust it between jobs.
Power-loss recovery
Resumes where it stopped after an outage rather than losing an eight-hour plate and a tank of resin.
Open materials
Any 405 nm photopolymer resin. No proprietary cartridges, no lock-in on consumables.

You Will Also Need a Wash & Cure Station
A resin printer on its own is an incomplete system. Every part must be washed in IPA to remove uncured resin, then UV-cured to full hardness.
- Mercury Plus V3.0 — 7.5 L wash capacity and a large curing chamber; comfortably covers the Mars 5 Ultra and any larger printer you add later.
- Mercury XS Bundle — separate wash and cure stations with a handheld UV lamp.
Release film, masking LCD, build plate and resin tank are wear parts on any MSLA machine. We stock replacements in Spain.
Safety & workspace
Uncured photopolymer resin is a skin and eye irritant. Work in a ventilated space, wear nitrile gloves and eye protection when handling liquid resin, wash parts in IPA, and cure fully before handling bare-handed. Dispose of waste resin and used IPA as chemical waste — never down the drain. Keep away from children and pets.

Questions About the Mars 5 Ultra
What exactly is different from the Mars 5?
Four things. The panel is 7-inch 9K (8520 × 4320) rather than 6.6-inch 4K (4098 × 2560). Speed is 150 mm/h rather than 70. Levelling is automatic rather than sensor-assisted manual. And the LCD is protected by 9H tempered glass rather than PET film. The build volume is slightly larger at 153 × 78 × 165 mm, and power-loss recovery is added.
Is 9K genuinely visible against 4K?
Yes, on fine texture — chainmail, fabric folds, small facial features and engraved detail. On larger smooth surfaces the difference is marginal. The more consequential upgrade for most buyers is actually the speed: at 150 mm/h against 70, a tall plate finishes in less than half the time, which changes how much you can produce in a week.
Why does the 9H glass protector matter?
The masking LCD is the most expensive consumable on any MSLA printer, and it fails from two causes: scratches during cleaning, and resin leaking through a punctured release film onto the panel. A tempered glass cover takes that damage instead of the screen, and it can be wiped firmly without risk. Over a machine's life it can be the difference between one LCD replacement and three.
Should I skip it and buy a Saturn instead?
Compare plate sizes rather than resolution. This gives 153 × 78 mm; a Saturn 4 gives 219 × 123 mm — roughly 2.2× the area, which matters far more than 9K versus 12K if you batch parts. Choose the Mars 5 Ultra if desk space is limited or your parts are small and detailed; choose a Saturn if you want to fill a plate and sell what comes off it.
What ventilation does it need?
The same as any resin printer, regardless of size — a compact machine does not mean a compact problem. Site it somewhere ventilated that you do not sleep in, ideally a garage, utility room or workshop with a window. Resin off-gasses during printing and IPA during washing, and a sealed room accumulates VOCs overnight. Enclosures and carbon filters reduce smell but not VOCs, and direct sunlight will partially cure resin sitting in the vat.
Buying from Eolas Prints
We are a specialist 3D printing supplier in Cantabria, Spain, shipping across Spain and the EU, with resin consumables held here rather than sourced when you need them.
